IMPORTANT RACE UPDATE
All races are going ahead as planned tomorrow. There is a 15% to 20% of lightning throughout the day. A meteorologist will be on call at our Race Command Center. If an weather evacuation becomes necessary you will be notified by race personnel along the course and your RaceJoy will receive an alert (if you have not downloaded RaceJoy onto your smartphone, please do so). You should immediately seek the closest shelter (this could be the porch of a nearby home) Remain sheltered until Race Personnel notifies you that it is safe to return to the course.
The bus drop off and pick up has been changed to the North side of the YMCA. The YMCA has graciously allowed us to use the lobby as a waiting area. This will also serve as our Awards area, please pick up your award there. The parking areas are the same - Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church located at 495 North Ocean Avenue in Patchogue, and the former Verizon Building parking locate directly north of Mt. Carmel.
Unfortunately the Freedom Fest downtown has been cancelled. but we are planning on having a celebration downtown following our first Training Run - please stay tuned! We highly recommend activating the RaceJoy Application which we keep you updated on any weather alerts.
Please make sure to dress for the conditions, you may bring dry clothes and leave at our baggage check. We're going to have a great time in spite of the weather, remember our Veterans have had to endure much worse conditions!
